Scope of works

The Curley Group was successfully awarded the contract for the comprehensive reconfiguration of access and egress points at Heywood Industrial Park. In undertaking the reconfiguration, the Curley Group exhibited a high level of professionalism and proficiency. Their turnkey service model not only streamlined the entire process but also ensured seamless coordination and efficient project management. As part of their comprehensive approach, the demolition of the existing gatehouse marked the initiation of the transformation.

The excavation and subsequent backfilling of a 200-metre-long service trench were executed with precision, laying the groundwork for the subsequent installation of crucial infrastructure components. The inclusion of service drainage, a sump pump, and service ducts underscored The Curley Group's commitment to creating a robust and sustainable industrial environment. Simultaneously, the construction of a utilities hut provided a centralised space for essential equipment, contributing to the overall functionality of the park.

Infrastructure & security

The introduction of new concrete slabs not only enhanced the structural integrity of the park but also facilitated a more organised and efficient layout. The incorporation of cutting-edge technologies, including data systems, CCTV, ANPR, external lighting, and rise/fall bollards, showcased the Curley Group's dedication to modernising and securing the industrial park. These additions were not merely enhancements but integral elements contributing to the overall safety, security, and operational efficiency of the facility.

Keeping a live site moving

Beyond the physical infrastructure, the Curley Group addressed the visual and navigational aspects of the park. The installation of line markings and wayfinding signage played a crucial role in guiding vehicular and pedestrian traffic, ensuring a smooth and organised flow within the distribution hub.

Navigating the challenges posed by the need to keep the distribution park "live" during the entire reconfiguration process was a testament to the Curley Group's strategic planning and execution capabilities. The requirement to maintain three lanes of traffic open at all times for HGVs underscored the Group's commitment to minimising disruptions and optimising logistical operations within the park.

Outcome

The successful completion of this multifaceted project by the Curley Group not only transformed Heywood Industrial Park physically but also elevated its operational standards. The integration of innovative solutions and the adept handling of operational challenges further solidified the Curley Group's reputation as a reliable and forward-thinking partner in industrial reconfigurations.
